A freestanding ER is a medical facility designed to provide emergency medical care for patients in need. Unlike hospital ERs, a freestanding emergency room is not attached to a hospital. However, they still provide the same level of care. At Express ER we are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed with experienced, emergency care professionals.
Many patients report experiencing crowded waiting rooms and extended wait times when visiting hospital-based emergency rooms. Sadly, there are a number of factors that contribute to this. Patients seeking emergency care for non-urgent needs, shortages of medical specialists, lack of inpatient beds/rooms and even our increasing population are all factors. At Express ER we are dedicated to immediate care with no large crowds.
When it comes to urgent care centers and freestanding emergency rooms, they are quite similar. However, there are some major differences. Free-standing ERs are designed to provide emergency medical care, 24 hours a day. Urgent care centers, however, are designed to provide medical care often provided by a primary care physician. At Express ER we are equipped with the technology to provide the emergency care your family needs.
No, you never need an appointment to receive treatment at Express ER.
Due to Texas state law, it is required that your insurance provider cover emergency medical care. In the event your insurance company refuses to cover your emergency care, you should file a grievance with the Texas Department of Insurance.
